Last Saturday the Whitworth hosted an amazing craft and storytelling event from a project led by pupils and forest school experts from St Mary’s RC Primary, Levenshulme. Children showcased chosen woodland craft that included making rosehip syrup, charcoal mark making, willow bark stripping and taking a look at Ogham runes. The children were accompanied by storyteller Martin Maudsley who entertained visitors with animated storytelling throughout the day. The children and staff provided a very special atmosphere and the event was enjoyed by many families and visitors all keen to hear directly from the children about their adventures in forest school and woodland crafts. Enjoy the images and feedback below and why not take a look at the films produced by Jane Doyle and Freya Morton (project leaders) and filmed by Jack Jackson and Ben Page, edited by Polite Films to gain more of an insight into this very special project.
