Outdoor Art Club

Splash around in the water play area, make yucky potions in the potion area and create a masterpiece in the mud painting studio.

Outdoor Art Club sessions are designed so that children can move around the stations in their own time, playing and exploring at their own pace in a safe and enabling environment. All the activities are open-ended which means children get to choose their own activities with no pre-determined outcome. There’s no teacher, no instructions, just free play with inviting stations to stimulate exploration. The set up allows children to investigate for themselves, learning as they go.

These sessions aim to connect children and adults with nature, getting them hands-on in mud and exploring nature close up. We believe that by connecting children with nature early helps forster a positive relationship with the environment. Through these sessions, we hope to nurture the next generation of climate change-makers.

These sessions take place outside whatever the weather so we recommend wearing suitable warm clothing, waterproofs and wellies. We have a number of different sizes of all-in-one rain suits and rain coats available for families to use during the session.

These sessions typically take place on the third Saturday of the month but check the Whitworth’s website before heading out.
