PLAY Live for schools/ nurseries

Did you know our PLAY Live sessions are open to schools and nurseries as well as families?

Over the past two years hundreds of Early Years Foundation Stage children from schools and nurseries across Manchester and beyond have been enjoying these sessions.

They are free to access and a really great way to kick start a Monday morning.

You don’t need to be in Manchester either. These online sessions are run on Zoom so they can be accessed from anywhere.

If you haven’t tried one yet then Larkhill Primary school have shared these handy top tips on how to get the most out of these free online sessions.

Larkhill Nursery School’s top tips for engaging in PLAY Live with EYFS children:

1.         Go with the flow

We treat PLAY Live as another element of our continuous provision so children dip in and out. They love to wave to everyone on screen, dance in the warm up and then get involved as much or as little as they are inspired to do.

2.         Prepare a few resources the children haven’t used before inspired by the list the Whitworth send.

3.         Keep some of the resources available for the rest of the week and even reflect if you want to adapt or enhance a regular aspect of your continuous provision inspired by it.

4.         Be fascinated to see how the children respond to the hour long session. Some children are so engrossed and some come and go. It gives you an extra insight into what interest them.

5.         We keep our camera off but some keep them on. It depends on your children’s consents.

6.         Enjoy it together. Staff and children get fully involved rolling about in the warm ups and then freely responding to the materials.

7.         We also let all our families know about PLAY Live so they can join at home if they are not at nursery on a Monday morning.
