Last night our Early Years Producer, Lucy Turner caught up with Steph from Beyond Bea Charity to discuss the Still Parents project and how art can be used as a tool to navigate through grief and loss.
You can catch up on the interview here:
The Live interview covers how Still Parents came about through the personal loss of Lucy’s baby Jenny in 2016 and how it has grown from the germ of an idea to be the award winning engagement programme is now.
I experienced a stillbirth in 2016 when I lost my daughter Jenny. I never accessed any support groups as I just didn’t feel like they were for me. I wanted to create something that I would have wanted in the hope it might be what others needed too.

The interview also discusses the plans for the major Still Parents exhibition due to open in September 2021. The exhibition will be a combination of works from the Whitworth’s collection, chosen by participants, as well as works produced by participants in the practical workshops.
