ARTiculation is a national speaking competition for students aged 16-19 years old, from state and independent schools.
It is designed so that entrants deliver a ten-minute presentation in front of an audience. Talks can be about art, architecture or an artifact of their choice.
In all these competitions, adjudicators are asked to assess each presentation as a whole, looking at content, structure, delivery and the speaker’s original approach and unique potential.
The wonderful thing about ARTiculation is that taking part is as important as winning.

Having won the Regional Heat at the Whitworth, Charles Lee, Xaverian College, Manchester, went on to give the highly personal, winning presentation about The Proud Trust Centre, 1988, at the Grand Final of the ARTiculation Prize 2020. The exciting final took place at Clare College, University of Cambridge on Friday 13 March 2020, just before lockdown started. The adjudicator for the Grand Final was Sir Nicholas Serota, Chair of Arts Council England.

This year’s regional heat for the ARTiculation Prize event will take place on-line on
Wednesday 27 January 2021 10.30am – 1pm.
