Gathering of Strangers

Welcome

This blog is, and will continue to be, a work in progress.

A space for the Whitworth’s Civic Engagement and Education team to share ideas, projects, resources and our current thinking.

Over the last year, we have been working together with our friends and partners to re-imagine our civic engagement programme for the times in which we live.

This is not quite how we imagined the new programme would be launched, but we’re using this time of change to test out ideas, show our working and learn as we go, together.

‪Our work will now focus on three key priorities – education, civic purpose and health.

These principles will apply to the thinking that we do across all audiences, from early years to age friendly, in schools and communities, through our three new strands of activity;

School of Creativity – a lifelong curriculum for innovation,  making and creative thinking

Art in Action – working together with purpose for positive change in our community

Natural Cultural Health Service – nature and imagination come together to support physical and mental well-being

‪Not only do we hope this time will see our work find new, imaginative ways to expand digitally, but allow our partnerships and relationships to deepen.

Creating roots that will play out in new, unknown ways when we are able to safely gather in person once again.

Allowing us to get back to what we do best, bringing people, art and ideas together.
